I have been able to sorta cheat by using Inkscape which is a scalable vector graphic program. It allowed me to trace a pony to get the skeleton correct. I then sorta took it from there. Only took me a little while to get the hang of it.

Personally I've found that when posting on /mlp/ on 4chan you only get hate and vitriol if you post anything that doesn't look like vectored traces of show characters for your OCs or modified generator ponies
